If you own a business, you need the Internet. If you want to reach a wider audience, you need the Internet. If you want to target the right audience, you need the Internet. The Internet has become the first place shoppers go to locate products and services they need. They check prices, availability, and product specifics. They read reviews, visit forums, and look for discount codes and/or coupons.
But how does a small company get its business website search engine ready? You get listed in the search engines, that’s how.

Sad to say, but a significant majority of solo entrepreneurs are laboring under the delusion that once they get their website up, clients will flock to them in droves. (Hey, I used to be one of them.)
Unfortunately, my friend, that is quite simply a load of. . .well, let’s just call it hooey.
Don’t get me wrong. I write web copy for a living, so I certainly believe in the importance of an online marketing presence for the 21st century small business owner.

1. Be clear on your purpose.
Building a website can be a long and arduous procedure if you are not sure what
you are doing. However, if you have a clear focus as to what you expect your
website to do for your business/organization, things will flow much more smoothly.
The purpose can be anything from selling widgets online to keeping members of
your soccer team updated. Regardless, figure that out before setting sail on your
journey.
